Cheshire Elementary Schools Rank Among State's Best

Niche.com ranked the top 100 elementary schools in Connecticut.

Three elementary schools in Cheshire were ranked among the top 100 public elementary schools in Connecticut, based on new rankings of the best schools in the state from Niche.com.

Here’s how they placed:

Cheshire also fared well in the New Haven Metro Area rankings with four schools in the Top 10 (out of 88 schools ranked).

Here are those rankings:

  • Norton Elementary — No. 5
  • Highland Elementary School — No. 6
  • Doolittle Elementary School — No. 7
  • Chapman Elementary School — No. 10

According to Niche, a high ranking indicates that “students are happy with their experiences in all aspects, especially academics, teachers, and diversity,” “the school is an exceptional academic institution in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes,” and “the school is made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture.”
