Cheshire Football Upsets Top-Seeded St. Joseph In Class L Playoffs
The eighth-seeded Rams advanced to a semifinal showdown with No. 4 New Canaan with the quarterfinal victory.
CHESHIRE, CT — The Cheshire football team upset top-seeded St. Joseph 24-14 in the Class L quarterfinals Tuesday night at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport.
With the win, the eighth-seeded Rams (7-4) advanced to a semifinal showdown with No. 4 New Canaan (10-1) on Sunday, Dec. 4.
Junior Matt Jeffery led Cheshire with two touchdown receptions (79 and 62 yards), threw a touchdown pass and also intercepted a pass on St. Joseph’s first drive, according to GameTimeCT.com.
