Cheshire High School Briefly Locked Down Friday Morning

A student received a threatening text from another student, lockdown was lifted at 8:05 a.m. after building was found to be secure.

Cheshire High School was briefly put on lockdown this morning after a student received a threatening text, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports that at 7:30 a.m. the principal was informed that a student sent a threatening text to a peer and the student who sent the text was removed from class and was searched.

Executive Assistant to the Superintendent Carol Jesensky told the Register that the building was found to be “absolutely secure” and the lockdown was lifted at 8:05 a.m.
