Cheshire Mom Hopes Daughter's Overdose Death Can Warn Other Teens: Report

Skylar Ardito, who was set to begin her senior year at Cheshire High School, died last August at the age of 17.

CHESHIRE, CT — A Cheshire mother hopes the fatal heroin overdose that curtailed her 17-year-old daughter’s bright future can serve as a warning to other teens, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

Carrie Ford told the Record-Journal that her daughter Skylar Ardito was a straight-A student who dreamed of going to Yale and the fatal overdose was likely her first time experimenting with the drug.

Ardito, who was set to begin her senior year at Cheshire High School and was a longtime player in the Wallingford Girls Softball League, died last August.

The Record-Journal reports Cheshire Police are still investigating the case and might bring charges against the person who was the source of the heroin.
