Cheshire Police To Hold Rape Aggression Defense Class

The class is open to women who live or work in Cheshire.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Cheshire Police): The Cheshire Police Department will hold a Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class on March 26 and 28, April 2, 4, 9, and 11 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The class is for women who live or work in the town of Cheshire.

RAD is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive self-defense course for women high school age and above. The program begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defensive training. The course is led by officers of the Cheshire Police Department, who are certified RAD instructors.

The program is designed for the average person with no previous experience or background in physical training or self-defense.

The course includes one session of lecture and five hands on training classes.

The course if free to Cheshire residents or anyone employed in the Town of Cheshire.

The class runs for three weeks, two days a week.
