Cheshire Resident Killed In Head-On Crash In Massachusetts: PD

The crash happened Monday afternoon in Massachusetts, according to police.

CHESHIRE, CT — A Cheshire resident was killed in a head-on crash Monday afternoon in Massachusetts, according to police.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Route 8 in Sandisfield near the 7.3-mile marker, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The driver of a 2018 Nissan van – a 32-year-old man from Cheshire – died at the scene, police said. The victim’s identity hasn’t been released.

The other vehicle was a 2014 Ram 1500 that was being driven by a 49-year-old man from Hinsdale. He was seriously injured and was taken by a medical helicopter to Albany Medical Center, according to police.

Route 8 was shut down for about five hours while the crash was being investigated, police said.
