Cheshire Resident Named GNAC Player Of The Week

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire’s Karla Carangelo, a sophomore on the Albertus Magnus College women’s softball team, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, officials announced.

In a 4-0 week for the Falcons, Carangelo delivered a dominant performance all around the diamond. She hit .462 with a pair of home runs – with both coming in the first game against John Jay on March 20 – to go with eight RBIs on the week.

She also went 2-0 on the week in the circle, striking out eight in the second game against John Jay in four innings and followed that up with a win in game two against Simmons on March 21, striking out two in four innings.
