Cheshire Resident Named Publisher of Hartford Courant

The position was open when Richard Daniels left to head Tribune Publishing media companies in Baltimore and Pennsylvania.

Cheshire resident Tom Wiley was named publisher and CEO of the Hartford Courant Media Group on Tuesday.

Wiley, a former publisher of the New Haven Register, succeeds Richard Daniels, who left the Courant to head Tribune Publishing media companies in Baltimore and Allentown, Pa, according to the Courant.

The move was effective Tuesday.

Wiley most recently served as executive vice president of sales for Digital First Media, overseeing publications that included the New Haven Register, Torrington Register Citizen, Middletown Press and Connecticut Magazine.
