Cheshire Residents Shine in SCSU Field Hockey Team's Near Upset of Bentley
Anderson, Farrel both score in Owls' overtime loss.

Cheshire residents Lauren Anderson and Emma Farrel scored both goals for the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team in the Owls’ hard-fought 3-2 overtime loss to Bentley Saturday in Waltham, Mass.
Bentley’s Gina Lirange finished with a hat trick, including the game-winning goal 9:09 into overtime to lead the Falcons.
The Owls fell to 2-13 overall and 0-8 in Northeast-10 Conference play. Bentley improved to 8-8, 4-5 in league action.

Lirange opened the scoring just over 15 minutes into the game.
The Owls responded quickly when Anderson found the back of the net only 2:08 later to even the score.

Southern went ahead about 10 minutes later on a tally from Farrel. However, Lirange scored just over 2 minutes later to even the score at 2-2.
The game stayed that way into halftime and throughout the entire second half.
Audrey Dolloff turned away 12 shots for the Owls in the contest.
SCSU is back in action on Wednesday for a road game at Southern New Hampshire.
