Cheshire School District Ranked Among Top 20 in Connecticut

Niche.com has ranked school systems across the country and compiled a list of the best school districts in Connecticut.

Niche.com has compiled its list of the top 100 school districts in the United States and five Connecticut schools made the list.

The Edgemont Union Free School District in Greenburgh, N.Y. was voted No. 1 in the nation. Connecticut school districts ranked in the top 100 include: New Canaan, 19, Westport, 30, Darien, 73, Ridgefield, 79, Glastonbury, 87, and Simsbury, 100.

The website ranked the Top 100 districts based on various factors such as the quality of its Academics, Extracurriculars & Activities, Student Culture & Diversity, and Teachers.

According to Niche, it “ranks more than 100,000 public and private schools and districts based on dozens of statistics and 27 million opinions from 300,000 students and parents.”

A separate list was also compiled ranking the top 100 school districts in Connecticut.

Cheshire is ranked the 18th best school system in the state. Overall, the district received an A grade and there are more than 180 reviews by faculty, students and parents, which can be read at Niche.com.

Cheshire received an A for academics and its teachers. A total of 92 percent of students are considered proficient in math and/or reading. The district spends an average of $15,115 educating each student.
