Cheshire Teen Charged with Manufacturing Bombs

State and federal authorities assisted with the investigation after learning two suspects were researching and producing explosive devices.

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire Police have arrested one male juvenile and have a warrant for the arrest of a co-conspirator after the pair was “researching and producing explosive devices” in a wooded area in Cheshire.

The juvenile surrendered himself to police custody on Sept. 26 on an outstanding arrest warrant, according to Lt. Jeffrey Sutherland.

Sutherland said the arrest stems from an investigation conducted by the Cheshire Police Department with assistance from the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad and the FBI’s New Haven Field Office in January.
