UPDATE: Fleeing BMV Crashes Into Utility Poles, Shuts Down Part of Main Street in Cheshire for Hours
Cheshire Police are investigating the crash in which the driver was reportedly partially ejected from the vehicle and hospitalized.

CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire Police are investigating a crash that shut down part of Main Street for about four hours on Monday in which the driver crashed into two utility poles while allegedly fleeing from police.
The New Haven Register reports the driver of a BMW station wagon was partially ejected from the vehicle after the crash and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury with non-life threatening injuries.
The pursuit originally began when officers tried to stop the BMW around 10:45 a.m. on Cheshire Street but the driver, who was allegedly speeding, didn’t pull over and increased their speed, according to the Register.
The BMW later crashed into two utility poles and the road was closed for about four hours as police reconstructed the scene and investigated, according to the Register.
