Cheshire Wins SCC Softball Championship In Dramatic Fashion
The Rams claimed the SCC title with a walk-off extra-inning victory.
CHESHIRE, CT — The Cheshire softball team won the SCC championship in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 2-0 victory over Jonathan Law in eight innings on Wednesday at Biondi Field in West Haven.
Cheshire senior Jordan McCue hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Rams to their seventh overall SCC title, according to GameTimeCT.
Jenica Matos pitched a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts for Cheshire (23-0).

McCue was selected as the SCC Softball Tournament's Most Outstanding Player award, which is named in honor of the late Danni Kemp, former standout player at Foran High School, according to SCC Commissioner Al Carbone.
