Cheshire's Emma Farrel Scores First Collegiate Goal in SCSU Loss (Video)
Freshman scores Owls' lone goal in loss to Assumption.

Cheshire’s Emma Farrel, a freshman on the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team, scored her first collegiate goal in the Owls’ 5-1 loss to Assumption on Monday in New Haven.
The Owls fell to 1-4 with the loss, while the Greyhounds evened their record at 2-2.
Maria Beatrice opened the scoring for Assumption just 7:43 into the game. Then, only 5:50 later, Meghan Sullivan connected on a rebound to make it 2-0. Assumption added a goal from Allison Sheahan with 6 minutes left in the opening stanza to extend its lead to 3-0 at halftime.

Farrel got the Owls on the scoreboard only 65 seconds into the second half when she redirected a bid by Kristi Montemurro (New Milford, Conn.).
However, Assumption received goals from Catie Laraway and Sheahan later in the frame to make it a 5-1 final

Owls’ goalie Audrey Dolloff (Raynham, Mass.) stopped 13 shots in the game.
Southern Connecticut returns to action on Sept. 30 for a road game at AIC.
