Cheshire's Gunneson Paces SCSU Women's Volleyball Team in Loss to NYIT
Owls fall to 1-2 with non-conference loss.

Cheshire’s Kelly Gunneson paced the Southern Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team in the Owls’ 3-0 loss to non-conference for NYIT Saturday afternoon at Molloy College in Rockville, N.Y.
Gunneson, a junior tri-captain, had six kills and six digs in the loss.
The Owls fell behind early by a score of 12-2, but continued to chip away at the deficit. SCSU pieced together a 15-10 run to bring the score to 22-17. However, the Bears got the better of the Owls by a score of 25-18.

In set two, the Owls took an early 3-1 lead before NYIT tied the frame at 3-all. Afterwards, the Bears went on an 8-3 run to extend the lead to five (11-6). NYIT went on taking the second set from the Owls, 25-19.
With the score tied at eight, the Bears went on a 10-1 run to take a commanding 18-9 lead over the Owls. SCSU managed to bring the score to within five (22-17), but the Owls were unable to stop the Bears from taking the third and final set, 25-19.
