Children of Cheshire: The Role of the Child in Cheshire from 1500 to Present

FREE EVENT Monday, November 28 at 7:30pm

On Monday Nov. 28, The Cheshire Historical Society welcomes Dr. Ehsan Hoque of Distressed Children & Infants International for his presentation on The Role of the Child in Cheshire from 1500 to present. The presentation will cover the life of a Native American child from the Quinnipiac Tribe, moving to the challenging life of a Colonial American Child in this farming community, and then as Cheshire became more focused on manufacturing, the role of the child in a factory. The presentation will continue with a global view of child labor and other child issues in the world today while touching on the good work that DCI does to help children at risk. Dr. Hoque is the Executive Director and founder of Distressed Children & Infants International which aims to “protect the rights of children, stop child labor, and help families lift themselves out of poverty through education, healthcare, vision care, and income generating opportunities.” This is a FREE EVENT open to the public at 7:30 p.m. at the Cheshire Historical Society, 43 Church Drive.
