CHS Boys CC Teams Compete At Wickham Invitational On 10-8-22

CHS BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS WIN AT MANCHESTER’S WICKHAM INVITATIONAL MEET ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2022.

The Cheshire High School Boys Cross Country Teams proved once again at the Wickham Invitational Cross Country Meet at Manchester’s Wickham Park on Saturday, October 8, 2022 that they are a winning combination. The team that wins together stays together. The varsity team came in 9th place with a score of 316. The JV team came in 12th place with a score of 298. The Frosh team finished in 5th Place with a score of 110.

The top CHS Boys Varsity Team Student-Athletes that competed were Tyler Caron, Colin Grevelding, Daniel D’Souza, James Boyd, Mike DeJoseph, Jack Lengyel & Brian Krzanowski. As expected Cheshire’s Tyler Caron was leading the team and giving his opponents a strong workout throughout the race. His teammates also did the same to their competitors. Caron finished 27th time 17:19 followed by Colin Grevelding 55th time 17:52, Daniel D'Souza 66th time 18:10, James Boyd 84th time 18:22, Mike DeJoseph 93rd time 18:29, Jack Lengyel 95th time 18:32, and Brian Krzanowski 128th time 19:19. For the JV team the top scorers were #32 Christopher DiNatale time 22:01, #46 Anthony Mariani time 22:16 &
# 61 Quince Hamilton time 22:36 & # 74 Clyde D'Souza time 22:43. The Frosh team top scorers were #15 Zachary Chasen time 20:08, #42 Harley Guida time 21:37, #56 Bradley Fang time 22:21 & #57 Jack Wheelahan time 22:21.

Head Coach Pam Gunneson commented about her team’s performance at the meet. “Cheshire ran an excellent race being the 2nd class L team finisher,” stated Gunneson.

The next event for the CHS Boys Cross Country Team is a home meet at Cheshire Park on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 with Middletown’s Xavier High School, Branford & Jonathan Law of Milford.
