CHS BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS COMPETE AT THE WINDING TRAILS CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2023. RAMS VARSITY TEAM WON 3RD PLACE.

Not even the stormy weather on Saturday, September 23, 2023 could dampen the spirit and enthusiasm of the CHS Boys Cross Country Teams. The Rams Boys Varsity Team won 3rd Place at the Winding Trails Cross Country Invitational in Farmington. In 1st place was New Canaan 42, 2nd was Glastonbury 63, and 3rd was Cheshire 70.

Quad Captain & Senior Daniel D’Souza was the fourth runner overall with a time of 16:57 to finish the 3.1 mile course. Next up was the Rams James Boyd in 11th place time 17:35, 12th Tyler Caron 17:44, 14th Jack Lengyel 17:49, 29th Brian Krzanowski 18:56, 34th Zachary Chasen 19:22, and 35th Hanan Talipan Pinedo 19:36.

On the JV side freshmen Raine Ma finished 20th with a time of 19:54. Next up was Miquel Monreal 27th time 20:24, 35th Connor Rayball 20:52, 38th Jeffrey Yam 21.26, 39th Matteo Dore 21:26, 47th Anthony Mariani 21:54, 61th Gabe Njeim
22:22, 87th Joshua Lengyel 24:21 and 102nd Enzo DiSorbo 32:17.

Head Coach Pam Gunneson commented about her team's finish last Saturday. “The boys should be very proud of their races on Saturday, every runner gave their very best effort. We are so pleased with our 3rd place finish and having our first 4 runners in the top 15 runners. In the JV race Raine Ma, a freshman, finished 20th. We were very lucky the weather held off to just some light rain and light wind.”

The next event for the CHS Boys Varsity Cross Country Team will be the SCC Divisional Championships on Wednesday, September 27th at the Guilford Fairgrounds. Race Time 5:30 p.m. For the junior varsity team it will be the Nonnewaug Invitational at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury on Saturday, September 30th. Race time 10 a.m.
