The Lady Rams Cross Country Teams were made to shine. Just watch them shine.

They varsity team came in 1st Place at a home meet at Cheshire Park on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The Lady Rams competed against Guilford, Sacred Heart, and Wilbur Cross high schools. The score was Cheshire 32, Guilford 56, Wilbur Cross 64 and Sacred Heart 88. At Cross Country Meets low score prevails just like golf stated Head Coach Rob Schaefer.

The top finisher for CHS was senior and Tri-Captain Alexa Ciccone who came in second with a time of 19:21.9. She was followed by her teammates coming in right next to each other almost. Next up was Mia Vientos #6 time 21:06, Eva Curran #7 time 21:29, Emily D’Souza #8: time 21:52, Ava Ciccone #9 time 22:12, Sarah Curran #11 time 22:23 and Sage Falcon #12 time 22:45.


The Lady Rams are now 3-0.

Head Coach Schaefer commented about his team’s win on Wednesday, September 12th. “It was awesome to host three of the better teams in the Southern Connecticut Conference. To beat Guilford is a great accomplishment for our team. We are very proud of our record so far. Our younger runners really competed well today. I'm proud of the efforts of Emily D’Souza, Ava Ciccone, Sarah Curran, and Sage Falcon. We are really building the future of CHS girls cross country.” He also singled out student-cross country athlete Junior Eva Curran. “Eva Curran is way ahead of where she was last year. She is a real difference maker this year. She should be so proud of her running!”

The next event for the CHS Girls Cross Country Team will be an away meet on September 19, 2023 in Branford against Branford, Hillhouse and Hamden high schools. Race time 4 p.m.
