Head Coach Rob Schaefer commented about his team’s first place finish at the SCC meet in Guilford on September 27th. “We have never had such depth. Many teams hope to have two or three runners under 21:00. Really good teams will have four girls under 21:00. Today we had eight girls beat the 21:00 mark. This is such a good team! Although we were not competing against Mercy, they were in our race. They are a tough, top-ten team. We had our hands full with them. We beat them, but not by much. The SCC Championship is going to be a challenge to say the least.”

Schaefer singled out Tri-Captain Mia Vientos who returned to the team after a brief illness by stating “Mia Vientos was our heroine of the day. Her hard-earned finish came after a long duration of no running because of a cold. She rose to the occasion like a champion. We rely on her so much!”
