CHS Varsity Boys Volleyball Team Suffers Minor Setback On 5-10-22
CHS Team falls to Middletown Rival-XHS- At Home On 5-10-22. 2 out of the 3 Matches were nail biters.
CHS VARSITY BOYS VOLLEYBALL TEAM SUFFERS MINOR SETBACK AT HOME ON TUESDAY, MAY 10, 2022

The Cheshire High School Boys Varsity Volleyball Team suffered a minor setback at home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. They lost to Xavier High School of Middletown. They played 3 matches against XHS. Two of the three matches were very close. The score for the first game was CHS 23 to XHS 25, second match CHS 13 to XHS 25, the third match it was CHS 21 to XHS 25.
If you are thinking that the CHS Varsity Boys Volleyball team is out and it is game over for them then that would be incorrect. According to CHS Athletic Director Steve Trifone he stated ¨They are still very much in the hunt for the SCC & CIAC Championships.¨ The teamś record is now 11 wins and 3 losses.

Head Coach Susan Bavone commented about her team’s loss to Xavier. “We just made too many hitting errors and became tentative against Xavier. We were in a position to win set one and did not close it out which gave them momentum and confidence going into set 2. We became very passive and did not generate the kind of energy and aggressiveness we needed to get back in the match. It was a tough loss and puts us in a position where we need to win out in order to win the SCC regular season title. We will face that team again and we will need a much more aggressive and smart approach to our next meeting.”
The next game for the CHS Boys Varsity Volleyball will be a home game with Simsbury High School on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 game time is 6 p.m.
