Crash Closes Road In Cheshire
Police are advising motorists to say off the roads unless "absolutely necessary" as the cleanup from the storm continues.
CHESHIRE, CT — Police are advising motorists to say off the roads unless “absolutely necessary” after a crash closed a portion of Highland Avenue in Cheshire on Monday morning.
Highland Avenue is closed to all traffic from Hinman Road to Maple Avenue due to the crash, according to police.
“Essential employees and commuters required to be on the road this morning should avoid the area and follow the posted detour signs to reach their destination,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The roads are still difficult to travel. CT DOT, Cheshire Public Works, and numerous private plow trucks and businesses are out working hard to clean up from the storm. Stay home unless it is absolutely necessary, and allow them to clear everyone out so we, and all other emergency personnel, have the space to respond to emergencies as safely and quickly as possible.
