CTfastrak Has Quickly Become The "Connection" To Everybody's Destination
CTfastrak's new environmentally friendly Bus Rapid Transit System celebrates its 1st anniversary on March 28th.
As the CTfastrak bus rapid transit system celebrates its First Anniversary on March 28th, central Connecticut transit riders during the past year have discovered the time and money-saving advantages of traveling on the bus system -- and also connecting to other modes of transportation.
Designed for easy access with attractive, "green" transit stations, the CTfastrak bus rapid transit system has already attracted over 1.5 million riders in the corridor. From Manchester and East Hartford to Hartford, Bloomfield, West Hartford, Newington and New Britain to Bristol, Southington, Cheshire and Waterbury, CTfastrak has been moving residents, students and business professionals to destinations in the region and to points beyond.
Located in downtown Hartford, Union Station is a major transportation hub for central Connecticut. There is a CTfastrak stop in front of Union Station for passengers to connect to Amtrak, Greyhound Bus Line and Peter Pan Bus Line transit services. Many of the CTfastrak routes circulate through downtown Hartford so riders can also connect to the Megabus transportation service located in downtown Hartford.
While in downtown Hartford at the Connecticut Convention Center or Union Station, CTfastrak riders can also connect to the CTtransit Bradley Flyer service ($1.50 each way) which takes passengers to Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks.
CTfastrak passengers heading to New Britain and to destinations west of Hartford are also connecting to a variety of transit options in the region. Westbound passengers can board local transit services on the New Britain Transportation routes while passengers using the CTfastrak express bus service to Waterbury can catch Metro-North Rail services at the train station in downtown Waterbury. Transit riders in Waterbury can also connect to local Northeast Bus service as well.
