DNA Evidence Leads to Arrest of Cheshire Man for 2011 Burglary in North Haven

Henry Carisio, 30, is accused of stealing more than $7,000 worth of jewelry from a Middletown Avenue home.

North Haven police have used DNA evidence to identify the suspect, a 30-year-old Cheshire man, who allegedly stole more than $7,000 worth of jewelry in a 2011 burglary of a Middletown Avenue home.

Henry Carisio was arrested on a warrant on Sept. 30 and charged with burglary and larceny.

Police said that the victim of the burglary reported that her door had been forced open and jewelry had been taken while she was visiting her elderly mother in the hospital.

North Haven detectives collected DNA evidence left behind by the perpetrator and the analysis assisted investigators in obtaining an arrest warrant for Carisio.

Carisio is set to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 16.
