Election 2016 Results: Cheshire Vote Totals for President, U.S. Senate and Local Races

Full election results and numbers have been released for all of Tuesday's races. See how Cheshire residents voted here.

CHESHIRE, CT — On Election Night in Cheshire, town residents preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump for president by a 7,212 to 6,907 vote.

Clinton earned 48.6 percent of the vote, Trump received 46.5, while Gary Johnson earned 519 votes, or 3.5 percent, and Jill Stein received 178 votes or 1.2 percent.

In the race for U.S. Senate, Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., amassed 8,392 votes on multiple lines and his opponent Dan Carter, a Republican, received 6,059 votes in Cheshire.

In the 5th U.S. Congressional race, Democratic incumbent Elizabeth Esty received 7,735 votes in Cheshire while Republican challenger Clay Cope collected 6,092.

In local races, Republican challenger Len Suzio won back the 13th District State Senate seat he lost to Democratic incumbent Danté Bartolomeo in 2012 with an upset victory on Tuesday.

Suzio declared himself the winner, however, Bartolomeo wasn’t ready to concede, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Middletown Press reports unofficial numbers had Suzio leading with 19,488 votes to Bartolomeo’s 18,513.

In Cheshire, Suzio earned 6,296 votes on multiple party lines while Bartolomeo received 4,486.

Incumbent Republican Joe Markley won re-election in the 16th Senatorial District by defeating Democratic challenger Ryan P. Rogers. In Cheshire, Markley received 2,335 total votes on multiple party lines while Rogers received 1,476.

In the 89th State House District, two-term incumbent Republican Lezlye Zupkus ran unopposed and received 3,214 votes in Cheshire.

Republican Craig Fishbein defeated Democrat Patrick Reynolds in the 90th State House District for the seat of longtime Democratic legislator Mary Fritz, who passed away in July. In Cheshire, Fishbein finished with 2,047 total votes and Reynolds received 1,364.

In the 103rd State House District, Democrat Liz Linehan defeated Republican Andrew Falvey in a tight vote that has triggered an automatic recount. Linehan currently holds a 5,471 to 5,417 lead.

In Cheshire, Falvey finished with 3,430 votes (including 126 from the Independent Party line) while Linehan received 3,310.

Democrat Thomas Smith received 5,608 votes and Republican Susan D. Pappas received 8,334 votes for registrar of voters.
