Book Talk with Susan Olesen

Cheshire Library's own Susan Olesen will present a book talk on her recently published novel Best Intentions. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.

Best Intentions is the powerful and moving story of a young girl in the future who has superior intelligence but is haunted by mental illness.

Susan Staneslow Olesen's book is in the genre of Science Fiction, but  the story is primarily about family. Intelligently written, peppered with descriptions of alien landscapes and space stations, bits of the Russian and Navaran languages, and psychiatric and medical terms, the real heart of this story is Sarah.  With an uncanny ear for family dialogue, Olesen makes you feel that you are listening in on a real family's interactions and living through their experiences along with them. Once this book grabs your attention, you will feel compelled to read on - and once you finish, you will miss the characters and be impatient for Part 2.
