
In April 2008, Christine Ieronimo, a nurse of eighteen years, traveled to Ethiopia to adopt a 2-year-old little girl.
On that trip, she was not prepared for the poverty that she witnessed.
The most haunting images were those of the hungry children with the vacant stares. Her daughter had one of those stares.

A few days after their return home, she found her daughter drinking from a puddle in the driveway. At that moment, she realized that this child used to drink from puddles. It represented all the struggles she had had to endure in order to survive and she was only two.
Ieronimo became obsessed with clean water and decided to share their story with children everywhere by writing a children’s book titled, Drinking From Puddles, Through Eva’s Eyes.
