Cheshire Community Theater (www.cheshirecommtheater.org) announces auditions for Lend Me a Tenor, a comedy by Ken Ludwig, on Tuesday, February 7th and Wednesday, February 8th from 7 pm to 9 pm at Hillside Village Community Room (341 East Mitchell Ave. off Rte. 10 across from Stop & Shop) in Cheshire. Contact director Allison Koppel at 203-641-7483 or koppelvoice@cox.net for more information. Seeking 4 men and 4 women. Two of the men need to be able to sing for 2 minutes. Show dates are April 27, 28 & 29 at Cheshire High School’s Thorp Auditorium. Actors of all ethnic varieties and skill levels encouraged to attend. Set in 1934, the plot of Lend Me a Tenor unfolds at a gala fundraiser for the Cleveland Opera Company in which Tito Morelli, the famous tenor known as “Il Stupendo”, is scheduled to perform the lead role in Otello. Even before the star leaves his hotel room, everything starts to fall apart. A comedic chain-reaction of mistaken identities, farcical plot twists, innuendos and plenty of entrances and exits through multiple doors follows.
