Swim Across America, Inc., [SAA] is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming - related events. With the help of hundreds of volunteers nationwide and past and current Olympians, SAA is helping to find a cure for cancer through athleticism, community outreach and direct service.
The Swim Across America/Cheshire event is being coordinated by Maggie Senft a member of the Sea Dog Swim team and Cheshire High School Girls Swim team. She has gotten many of her teammates to sign up and raise funds to help cure cancer. The swimmers are planning on swimming a lap for each mile across the United States (approx 3000 miles). A group of adult lap swimmers has gotten involved in this project as well and will be swimming and raising funds.
