Fire Displaces Family, Destroys Home In Cheshire

CHESHIRE, CT — Four people were displaced from their home after a fire early Wednesday morning in Cheshire, according to officials. Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 635 Reservoir Rd. and found a “two-story wood framed dwelling well involved in fire,” officials said.

Two people were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Firefighters extinguished the fire in about two hours. Wallingford, Wolcott and Prospect Fire Departments provided mutual aid coverage for the town.

“Four Cheshire residents have been left homeless as a result of this fire, two of whom are young people,” officials wrote in a news release. “The Cheshire Human Services Department is providing all the affected parties with assistance in replacing their belongings and ensuring that their basic needs are met.”
