Fire Significantly Damages Cheshire Home
Firefighters extinguished the fire on Sunday afternoon.
CHESHIRE, CT — A Cheshire home sustained significant fire and smoke damage in a structure fire on Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials. Cheshire firefighters responded to 171 Payne Drive at about 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 9 on a report of smoke in the residence.
Arriving firefighters found an active fire inside the residence. Firefighters were able to get the fire extinguished and under control within 30 minutes of arrival, according to officials. (To sign up for Cheshire breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The Southington Fire Department also provided assistance at the scene.
