Frustration Mounts Over Lack of Progress on Community Pool in Cheshire

Originally, the pool was expected to have a permanent structure installed overhead by January.

Both Cheshire residents and officials are frustrated over the lack of progress in installing a permanent structure over the community swimming pool on Route 10, the Republican-American reports.

The engineering firm hired by the town to review the project has taken more than a month to do so, the paper reports.

In addition, the town chose Arizon Structures in August to manufacture and install the structure, however they have not yet signed a contract with Arizon to complete the project.

According to the paper, the town council expects an update on the project at its Dec. 9 meeting. Council members were upset earlier this month when the appropriate town staff was unable to provide an update on the project.

Originally, it was expected that the project would be complete by Jan. 1, the paper reports. It is now estimated that work will begin in spring and the pool will open by mid-June. For this timeline to work, a contract must be signed with Arizon.
