Gaylord Physical Therapy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Opens on Highland Avenue
New Office Offers Same-Day Appointments and Local Access to Gaylord Expertise

Gaylord Specialty Healthcare announces the opening of its newest Gaylord Physical Therapy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine location at 1154 Highland Ave in Cheshire. The office is located on the second floor of the Saint Mary’s Hospital Outpatient Center.
Jacob Hunter, PT, MSPT, OCS, Outpatient Site Supervisor said that opening a presence in the Cheshire community this June was important as Gaylord Physical Therapy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is a preferred provider to many local sports medicine physicians and orthopedic surgeons.
Hunter explained that referrals are not necessary and that the new location will offer same-day appointments.
“Our services can benefit patients with any orthopedic condition ranging from strains and sprains to those recovering from joint replacement or orthopedic surgery. Our therapists can help assess the injury and provide or recommend the next steps in treatment,” he said.
“Whether a patient is a serious athlete sidelined by a sports injury, a weekend warrior, or just wants to regain an active lifestyle, our therapists can provide the expert, personalized care that can help build strength, mobility and quickly return them to the activities they love.”
Gaylord Physical Therapy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine also comes highly recommended by its current and former patients, with more than 96% of those treated at the practice’s North Haven office reporting being highly satisfied with their therapy services.
A number of experienced Gaylord therapists are available for appointments, including:
Jacob Hunter, PT, MSPT, OCS, a Cheshire native and an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist who was recognized by the American Physical Therapy Board of Specialties and was recently named Gaylord Specialty Healthcare’s 2016 Employee of the Year. Hunter is among the few therapists in the area to be certified in the integrative dry needling technique for pain management therapy.
Kate Grevelding, PT, DPT, ATC, OCS, a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
