Home Heavily Damaged In Fire In Cheshire

CHESHIRE, CT — Firefighters quickly extinguished a house fire late Thursday night on Lancaster Way in Cheshire. The fire was reported at about 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 8 and the house was occupied at the time, according to fire officials.

“The Deputy Chief arrived within 3 minutes to find this house well involved in fire on the Charlie-Delta corner (rear side),” the Cheshire Fire Department wrote in a post on Facebook. “The deputy confirmed all occupants were out safe. 4 engines and 1 ladder truck arrived shortly thereafter. 2 handlines were deployed for a defensive attack while the ladder truck was setup in case it was needed. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within 5 minutes. Overhaul continued for the next 90 minutes while hot spots were doused. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cheshire Fire Marshals office.”
