Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K Donates Over $100,000 to Local Charities!

The 2017 Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K donated over $100,000 to local charities! A recent check presentation ceremony was held at Cheshire High School where checks were presented to Abilities Without Boundaries, SARAH Foundation, Best Buddies CT, the Cheshire Lions Club and a number of Cheshire High School teams, clubs and organizations. These donations would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors and participants. The sixth annual event, held on April 30, attracted a crowd of over 3,000 runners. Since the inaugural year in 2012, the Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K’s charitable focus has been on raising money and awareness for local organizations that support individuals with special needs.

Cheshire organizations that provided volunteer support at this year’s event also received charitable contributions. The following groups from Cheshire High School included the Girls and Boys Cross Country, Girls and Boys Swim & Dive, Girls & Boys Lacrosse, Softball Team, Football Team, Girls & Boys Tennis, Girls & Boys Track, Cheerleading Squad, Best Buddies, Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, Wrestling, Peer Health, and Ram Band Parents Association.

“Ion Bank is proud to partner with the Cheshire Road Races as the Title Sponsor. We are pleased this event raises so much money to benefit several local non-profit organizations, Chuck Boulier said.” “I’m also proud of our employees who serve on the Board of Directors of the Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K Foundation as well as our many employees who volunteer at the event to help make it the success that it is.”
