Lezlye Zupkus: The best choice to represent the 89th

I would like to respond to a recent letter to the editor in the Rep-Am titled “Harrigan backed in bid to unseat Zupkus”.

Mr. Gusenburg seems to take issue with Rep. Zupkus voting against certain bills. It seems that the “bump stock” bill, HB5542, is more about banning a piece of plastic that is useless without a gun and whose action can be replicated in other ways. It would make more sense for us to focus our energy on helping those with mental illness and keeping the guns out of the hands of criminals. That would truly make our state safer and “for the sake of our children”, keep our schools much safer as well.

I for one, am very glad to have a strong, intelligent, hard working woman like Lezlye Zupkus representing me in the 89th. Lezlye is known in the community and at the Capitol to be a strong leader who bases her decisions and her votes on policy, not emotion.

I will proudly vote for Rep. Lezlye Zupkus for State Representative of the 89th (like I’ve done in previous elections) in November.
