National Retailer To Close Location In Cheshire: Report

The retailer announced that it will be closing a store in Cheshire.

CHESHIRE, CT — Pier 1 Imports will be closing its location on Route 10 in Cheshire in April, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports the company made the decision to close the Cheshire store following a review of store locations. The home decor and furniture retailer also has locations in Hamden and Meriden.

Pier 1, which is based in Fort Worth, Texas, appointed an interim CEO earlier this week after Alasdair James stepped down, according to the Dallas Morning News. Longtime boar member Cheryl Bachelder has been named interim CEO.

Pier 1 has closed 24 stores over the last 12 months and now operates 987 locations, according to the Dallas Morning News.
