New Parking Restrictions To Be In Effect Near Elementary School: Cheshire Police

Police announce new parking restrictions that will be in effect during school hours following a recent traffic study.

CHESHIRE, CT — The Cheshire Police Department has announced new parking restrictions that will be in effect during school hours on roads near Highland School following a recent traffic study.

“The Cheshire Police Department Traffic Division, after studying traffic/parking issues near Highland School, will be placing parking restrictions on some of the area roads limiting parking to one side of the affected roads during school hours,” police said in a post on Facebook. “There will not be a complete parking ban in this area. Parents are urged to use the main driveway when picking up students to help minimize issues in residential neighborhoods that cannot/were not designed to handle the increased traffic associated with a large school.

“We look forward to the anticipated cooperation in making dismissal time more efficient and safer for the students walking in the area.”
