Obituary: Eleanor Boemmels, 91, of Cheshire
Boemmels was a longtime Cheshire resident and co-owner of Boemmels' Sunoco on West Main Street.

Eleanor Boemmels, 91, of Cheshire, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles Boemmels.
Mrs. Boemmels was born April 8, 1925 in Scranton, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Mary Szymanosky. She was a longtime Cheshire resident where she was a communicant of St. Thomas Beckett Church and co-owner of Boemmels’ Sunoco on West Main Street.

Prior to moving to Cheshire, Eleanor was the co-owner of West End Sunoco in Bridgeport, and was named Business Woman of the Year in 1964.
Mrs. Boemmels is survived by her two sons Frank Boemmels of Cheshire and Edward Boemmels and his wife Marcia of SC; her three grandchildren Jennifer Siniscalo and her husband Justin, Frank Jr., Brent, Todd and Richard and his wife Janet; as well as her great grandchildren Brianna Logan and Kystal; her brother Walter and his wife Cathy; her sisters Jenny Filingo, Katie Damiano and Rose Mills and her husband Jack.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son Julius, her brothers Anthony and Chester and her sisters Pearl and Stella.
Arrangements – Calling hour will be held on Monday October 24, 2016 at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main Street, from 9 a.m. until the funeral procession leaves for church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Becket Church. Burial will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
