Obituary: Elizabeth 'Beth' Lucier, 59, of Cheshire

Beth, a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, was a loyal friend to all and especially loved to cook.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Elizabeth "Beth" Lucier, 59, of Cheshire, was born on December 5, 1960, a daughter of the late Louise R. Rukus and John M. Rukus Sr. from Meriden.

On August 12, 2020, Beth comfortably passed away at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden due to complications from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

She was a devoted wife to the late Duwayne Lucier her husband, a loving mother to her son, Adam Lucier, a beautiful sister, caring aunt and great aunt and a loyal friend to all. She loved to cook. She fought a hard battle with ALS that she knew she would not conquer in the end.

Her beautiful and meaningful life will be forever cherished in the loving memories we can share from her son Adam of Cheshire, CT, brother John M Rukus Jr. (Laura) of Meriden, CT, and her sisters Robin DeGennaro (John) of Cheshire, CT and Anne Marie Budwitz (Scott) of Englewood, FL.

Her memories will also live on with several nieces and nephews, great niece and nephew and many cousins, friends and extended family.

The family would like to thank the nurse at Midstate who was by her side at the time of her death, we were relieved that she wasn’t alone. We would also like to thank the ALS association CT Chapter in Milford, CT and the Susie Foundation of West Hartford. They generously helped out when we needed them most.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 10 am directly at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Durham Rd., Wallingford. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
