Obituary: Hilary Shay DiMauro, 51; Formerly Of Cheshire
Hilary grew up in Cheshire and attended Choate Rosemary Hall. Hilary's family was everything to her.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Hilary Shay DiMauro, 51, of Southington, CT died suddenly at Hartford Hospital, Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born February 3, 1971, in South Korea and grew up in Cheshire, CT where she attended Choate Rosemary Hall. She then attended American University and received her degree in international studies. She then went on to attend Southern Connecticut State University and received her master’s degree in Audiology.
In 2006, Hilary married Rick DiMauro and moved to Southington, CT, where they had daughter Liliana Shay DiMauro in 2008. Hilary’s family was everything to her and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, baking, cooking, and going on vacations. She will also be greatly missed by her cat Gracie.
Hilary’s happiest moments were spending time with her large Shay family at Fairfield Beach during summers and getting together with her extended DiMauro family. They welcomed her into the family as if she were one of their own.

Hilary is predeceased by her parents Jean Baldwin and William H. Shay, Jr. She leaves behind a brother, William H. Shay III and beloved sister Pam Guglielmino of Cheshire, CT. She also leaves behind her cherished mother-in-law, Annette DiMauro, Seb and Sherry DiMauro of Middletown, CT, Johnpaul and Sandra Tata of Cromwell, CT. She also leaves behind her beloved Uncle Paul B. Shay, Sr. and his wife Robin, Aunt Ellen McKenzie and her husband Howard, Aunt Sally Johnson and her husband Ray, Uncle Rick Shay, and Aunt Kathy Sitar and her husband Paul, along with many loving Shay cousins and extended family.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. A memorial mass will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10 a.m., at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, 59 Main Street, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in her name, may be made to Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church.
