Obituary: Joseph ‘Joe’ Porcelli, 81

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Mr. Joseph “Joe” Porcelli, 81, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the devoted husband of Laura (Ragazzo) Porcelli for 39 years.

Joseph was born June 18, 1941, in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Carmello and Jennie (D’Ariano) Porcelli. He was the owner and operator of Red Rooster Deli & Caterers in Stratford for 32 years.

In addition to his loving wife Laura, he leaves behind his daughter, Lisa Zarcone and her husband Jasen; brothers-in-law Anthony Ragazzo (Janice) and Richard Ragazzo (Annalinda); first cousin Marie Barbera (Joseph); nephews Tom Ragazzo and Andrew Ragazzo (Ali); nieces Kristen Mascaro (Daniel) and Adrianna Ragazzo (Andrew); great-nephew Ryan Mascaro; as well as many cousins and friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his in-laws Salvatore and Anna (Magistro) Ragazzo.

Arrangements – On Saturday, December 10, 2022, Mr. Porcelli’s funeral procession will leave the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main St. at 9:30 a.m., and proceed to Saint Bridget of Sweden Parish/Saint Bridget Church 175 Main St. in Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Committal will follow in Saint Bridget Cemetery. Friends are invited to meet at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:45 a.m. until the funeral procession leaves for church.
