Obituary: Marius ‘Mickey’ Olesen, 80, Of Cheshire
He worked for many years as a mason for Hamden Masons, and later years at Durham Manufacturing.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Marius “Mickey” Olesen, 80, of Cheshire, passed away on November 19, 2022 after a long illness. Mickey was born on December 24, 1941 to Marius and Elizabeth (Downes) Olesen.
Mickey grew up in Northford, CT, and graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven. He worked for many years as a mason for Hamden Masons, and later years at Durham Manufacturing. He was a long-time member of the Naugatuck Elks Lodge 967 and an avid player in their golf and setback leagues. Mickey was a die-hard Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan and enjoyed many a friendly rivalry with Yankees fans.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores; his daughter, Kim (Steven); his son, Michael (Susan); his grandchildren, Julia, Sydney, Christopher, Marina, Alessandra, Joseph, Luke, TJ and Jesse; his great granddaughter, Aurora; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, William and Theodore; and his nieces, Debbie and Amy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cheshire Challengers. Please make checks payable to Cheshire Challengers, put "in memory of Marius Olesen" in the memo line, and mail to Wendee Marini, 499 Cardinal Lane, Cheshire, CT 06410.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire.
