Obituary: Oliver F. Bouteiller Jr., 75, Of Cheshire

Oliver's career as an auto mechanic spanned 37 years at Ollie's Garage in Cheshire. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Oliver F. Bouteiller Jr., 75, of Cheshire, entered into eternal rest at his home on June 6, 2023 surrounded by his family at his side, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia and lung cancer. Oliver was born on October 5, 1947, in Waterbury, CT to the late Oliver F. Bouteiller, Sr. and Mary Margaret (Wild) Bouteiller.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Louise (Moan) Bouteiller, his children Oliver F. Bouteiller III, Raymond Bouteiller, Shawn Bouteiller (Danielle), Jamie Bouteiller, Karey Johnson (“PJ”), Ryan (Danielle) Bouteiller, John S Sommers, Jr. (Ashley), Patrick Sommers (Jennifer), Regina Schiavi (Jeffrey), Ryan Edwards (Nina), and 24 grandchildren. He leaves his siblings, Daniel Bouteiller (“Mickey”), Thomas Bouteiller (Joann), Alfred Bouteiller (“Dolly”) and Sandra Bouteiller, his sisters-in-law, Sr. Mariette J. Moan, ASCJ and Donna Bouteiller, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Bouteiller, his sister, Cynthia Schneider, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Sigetti.

Oliver’s career as an auto mechanic spanned 37 years at Ollie’s Garage in Cheshire. For six years prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Diocese of Bridgeport (CT) overseeing building and maintenance at St. Raphael Academy where he was known for his ethic of honest hard work and dedication, as well as his love of working in an environment with young children. There was no task that was too difficult or too long to complete, no hour too late, no distance too long to travel when called upon or to lend a helping hand.

He and his wife both shared a love of horses and have been longstanding members of the Grayson-Jockey Foundation. Kentucky Derby Day was an annual event that he and his wife hosted for close friends and family. Oliver was also a former member of the Towing and Recovery Professionals of CT (TRPC).

Oliver was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending his time with his wife (his “queen”), all the members of his immediate and extended family, and his faithful companion, his chihuahua “Chloe.” He treasured family vacations, attending his grandchildren’s sporting and dance events, trips to the casino, and especially hosting family get-togethers for all the holidays.
