Obituary: Peter A. Mongillo, 85, Of Cheshire

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Peter A. Mongillo, 85, of Cheshire, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at his home in Cheshire, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Mary (O’Connor) Mongillo.

Mr. Mongillo was born August 22, 1937 in New Haven, CT., son of the late John and Philomena (Mascia) Mongillo. He was a retired North Haven Public School teacher.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Mr. Mongillo leaves behind his sons, Peter Mongillo, and his wife, Kathleen, of Hamden, and Michael Mongillo of London, UK; and his daughter, Anne Mongillo, and her husband, David Fischer, of Forest Hills, N.Y. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Isabella, Anthony, Valentina, and Spencer Mongillo, and Jacob Fischer. He is also survived by his brother John (Amy) of Naples, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Peter’s life will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10 a.m., at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire. Burial will follow in St Bridget Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in his name, may be made to the Cheshire Community Food Pantry.
