Obituary: Sidney H. Pollack, 85; Former Cheshire Resident

Sidney H. Pollack, 85, formerly of Waterbury, Middlebury and Cheshire, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.

Mr. Pollack was born November 18, 1931 in Scranton, PA, the son of the late Samuel and Miriam (Marris) Pollack. He was the former owner/operator of the Pie Plate restaurant. He was known as a wine connoisseur and well as for his love of golfing, photography, and greyhound dogs.

Mr. Pollack is survived by his former wife, Marion Pollack of Waterbury; his children Larry and Liz Pollack of Farmington, Dana Pollack of St. Petersburg, FL, S. Dyan Pollack of Plainville, and Nancy and Joel Wineburgh of Bristol; as well as two grandchildren. Marney Pollack of West Hartford and Ben Pollack of New York, NY. He is predeceased by his sister Lila Rivkin.

Arrangements – Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury is assisting with arrangements.
