Obituary: Theodore (Ted) Spagnola, 92, Of Cheshire

CHESHIRE, CT — (From Alderson-Ford Funeral Home): Theodore (Ted) Spagnola, 92, of Cheshire, passed away November 30, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Maureen (Furlong) Spagnola with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Ted was born in Waterbury, on September 16, 1930, the son of the late Frank and Evelyn (Petillo) Spagnola. He retired from Bristol Babcock after many decades. He was a proud USAF Veteran having served during the Korean War.

Ted shared his love of the Cape, a good meal, and enjoyment of new cars with his family. PopPop/Grampy was adored by his grandchildren. He taught them to fish at Mixville, cook scrambled eggs, and to appreciate a good sense of humor.

Ted is survived by his son, Bill Spagnola and his wife Carrie of Cheshire, his daughter, Trish (Spagnola) Kelly and her husband Brian of Cheshire, his sister Sylvia Spagnola, his grandchildren, Brendan Kelly, Jillian Spagnola, Kiersten Spagnola, Devin Kelly of Cheshire, and many nieces and nephews. Ted was predeceased by grandson Christian Ted, sister Frances, brother Bobby, and his granddog Riley Bones.

A graveside service in celebration of Ted’s life will be held on Monday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Bridget Cemetery in Cheshire. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has care of arrangements.
