Online Campaign Launched to Benefit Cheshire Grad Following Tragic Accident
Sara Crutcher is hospitalized recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident that claimed the life of her son, 17, on Easter morning.

A GoFundMe account has been set up on behalf of former Cheshire resident Sara Crutcher, who is currently in the hospital in Texas following a tragic car accident in which her 17-year-old son died on Easter morning.
Crutcher, a 1988 graduate of Cheshire High School, was the passenger in a vehicle driven by her son Nick, who swerved to avoid debris in the road and hit a tree on Saturday night (April 4), according to the GoFundMe page.
Nick died from his injuries on Easter morning and Sara is still in the hospital and will be there for some time as she recovers and it will be even longer before she will be able to go back to work, according to James Gafney, who created the page.

Friends and family launched the GoFundMe account to help cover Crutcher’s medical expenses and the cost of the funeral.
Rachel Dolan, who identified herself as Crutcher’s sister, wrote an update on the page Thursday afternoon that said Crutcher’s “chest tube was removed and she is breathing better. Her left hand is permanently paralyzed and she still needs to recover from broken” ribs. Sara is improving but in a lot of pain.”
