This Party Will Go Down In History!!

Cheshire Historical Society Christmas Party Dec 20

“This Party Will Go Down In History!”

For all the many years that the Cheshire Historical Society has been in existence, there has always been a Christmas Open House party. This year is very special as the Historical Society is including several community groups: Suburban Garden Club is again bringing the magic of the season into the house with their decorations and Artsplace has offered their very special expertise by working with the Society to have a John Frederick Kensett Artist theme at this party. It’s rumored that Kensett will be at the party, re-enacted by a local artist and in his “mini-me” form as has been seen on Facebook. Photo opportunities will be available with the big and small Kensetts. Cheshirepedia has perfected the Kensett Kocktail for everyone to try: creating a period cocktail from pre-Civil War times using ingredients available during that time period. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions will be available. The Cheshire Historical Society Christmas Party and Open House has been called “The Social Event of the Year” in Cheshire and the Society hopes that all Cheshire residents come by to see the decorated house and imbibe in some cheer and frivolity. As Society President Diane Calabro says, “Come party like a [history] rock star!” The doors open on Sunday Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. and through the day until 5 p.m. at 43 Church Drive. The entire house is open for tours and displays. This event is free and open to the public. See how the Historical Society keeps Cheshire’s history alive! For information call (203) 272-2574.
