Cheshire Police Continue to Investigate Fatal Accident

Cheshire Police are continuing to investigate Saturday night’s fatal accident in which a 90-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle was trying to cross the street.

Cheshire’s Mildred Masserman, 90, died of her injuries after being struck by a vehicle driven by Mary DiDomizio, 66, of Cheshire, according to Lt. Jeffrey Sutherland.

Police responded to the scene at about 7 p.m. on Oct. 10 and preliminary investigation showed the vehicle driven by DiDomizio, traveling north on South Main Street, struck Masserman while crossing the street, according to Sutherland.

Sutherland said no charges have been filed at this time and the crash is being investigated by the Cheshire Police Department Traffic Division.
